Did we have a great trip? You bet! It was perfect! Would we use Sonja for our next trip? Of course!
She worked with Country Walkers (hiking the Camino) so that we could postpone our return flight (included with the tour) until after our barge cruise. She was helpful—& patient, with us while we decided which barge cruise (the Enchante) was perfect for us. Then she did the difficult work of booking our trips, coordinating our travel (trains), location & hotels between Spain & France and getting us to Paris for our flight home. We had five days between trips. She suggested three days in Toulouse & two in Narbonne where we would pick up our barge tour. She provided tour information for these cities too.

Sonja, our long-time travel agent planned the perfect boutique trip to Spain and Portugal for us. This was a dream trip we had wanted to complete since we had quick stops in both countries while on a cruise over 4 years ago. As a part of the boutique experience, Sonja and Bob accompanied our small group as our personal escorts while we enjoyed our travel adventure. Conversations with Sonja as the plans developed included our interests, any personal travel needs and the specific regions, cities, and sites that we would like to experience. From those discussions, Sonja developed an incredible itinerary for our group. We were able to do the things that we had identified and so much more that Sonja proposed. Each was well managed by Sonja or by very professional and knowledgeable local guides that Sonja selected. Most were part of the detailed itinerary we had before the trip, but even as we were traveling from city to city, Sonja and Bob were able to add excursions and activities that they felt we would enjoy. Everywhere we went from the transatlantic cruise, train and bus stations, to car rentals, tour vans, and taxis, the process was easy for us and flawless. Sonja's boutique tour provided us the opportunity to explore, interact and increase our understanding of the people, cultures and history of Portugal and Spain from the cities, to the countryside, and small villages. From the great hotel accommodations, the apartment close to the beach, delicious food, to the breath-taking sight seeing, cooking classes, culture, and yes even Flamenco dance lessons, this was truly a mind blowing vacation that will live in our memories forever. This extended vacation was a long-time dream for us. And with Sonja's personalized service it was even better than we could have expected. We can't recommend Travel with Sonja enough.
We love Sonja so much we booked a cruise through her to the Panama Canal next March.
Sonja is located in Macedonia, Ohio, we live south of Akron, so all our trip planning & communication was handled seamlessly via phone, email & internet. About a week before our trip Sonja traveled to Akron to meet with us to go over our itinerary, provide us with our tickets, vouchers, & give us a mini class on how to use WHATSAPP on my iPhone so I could send text & photos of our adventures home to friends & family.
Two years ago she arranged our trip to Rome, Florence, Venice and Lake Magorie in Italy. She arranged great excursions for us. This was our first trip to Europe and everything was perfect. I'm an amputee with special needs and she made sure I was accommodated to. Sonja is a stickler for details and following through.
This May we went on one of Sonja's Boutique tours to Spain and Portugal. It was a trans- Atlantic cruise with stops in Portugal and Spain then ending up spending a few days in Barcelona before flying home. Again she arranged for us to see sites you just can't see when you're on a bus with 60 other people. It was fabulous.
We had a great trip. Everything went smoothly, no missed connections, no delays, no lost luggage, it was perfect! Sonja also put us on the ‘fast track’ going over, i.e. no security checks!
Sonja did a great job. She followed up on all questions and even checked on seats for our return flight while we were traveling. I would use her again.
My husband Bob & I wanted to celebrate our 50th anniversary hiking the Camino de Santiago in Spain & taking a barge cruise on the Canal de Midi in Southern France. We usually schedule our own tours, but this time we needed help coordinating the two trips. Bob sent emails to several travel agents in our area. Sonja was the only one to respond. She spent time sharing information & tips without any definite commitment on our part. She was so helpful we decided to go with her.
